什么是斋月？
斋月，佛教用语，伊斯兰教借用佛教词汇。佛教中的斋月是指的阴历正月、五月、九月等三个月份。伊斯兰斋月(英语:Ramadan，阿拉伯语:رمضان)，又译莱麦丹月，是伊斯兰历第九个月，该月名字意为"禁月"，是穆斯林封斋的一个月，是真主安拉Allah将古兰经Quran下降给穆罕默德圣人的月份。
在斋月里，每天日出至日落期间，除了患病者、旅行者、乳婴、孕妇、脯乳妇、产妇、正在行经的妇女以及作战的士兵外，成年的穆斯林必须严格把斋，不吃不喝，不抽烟不饮酒、不行房事等。直到太阳西沉，人们才进餐，随后或消遣娱乐，或走亲访友，欢天喜地如同过年。
斋月的时间：4月13日-5月12日，5月13日为开斋节。
斋月为期大约一个月的时间，在斋月期间，清真寺内还会有额外的诵经祈祷，每晚诵读圣书的1/30。到斋月结束时，许多信徒都读完了整个古兰经。斋戒是伊斯兰教的五大支柱之一，是宗教的基础。这些支柱是穆斯林世界各地穆斯林生活的框架，斋月被认为是伊斯兰教历中最神圣的日子。
